Lonvitalite Dermal Roller for an easy at-home treatment. The thought of rolling a device across your face that has hundreds of tiny needles can sound quite scary. it's actually a very effective treatment that is designed to improve the performance of your skin care!

Dermal Rolling, or micro needling is a very popular in-clinic treatment to have, it works to improve the skin's ability to absorb skin care products and is based on cosmetic acupuncture techniques which stimulates circulation, facial muscle activity and the skin's natural cell regeneration process. Personal at-home dermal rollers have gained popularity recently and its now easier than ever to give yourself a salon quality treatment in the comfort of your own bathroom.

a dermal roller works to create microscopic holes on the skin's surface in order to stimulate the skin's healing process. Professional skin therapists tend to use larger needles for a deeper, more intense treatment. At-home dermal rollers are designed to be very gentle on the skin with minimal discomfort, they use very small needles which are suitable for more frequent use.

One of my all-time favourite treatments to have at our skin clinic is clinical needling. So, I decided to give at-home dermal rolling a go to see what all the fuss is about…and it has completely changed my skincare routine forever!!

I was a little apprehensive at first, but it was surprisingly easy to use. I started by double cleansing my face and making sure all of my makeup was removed and my face was completely clean and free of any dirt or oil.

I have the Lonvitalite Microneedle Derma Roller Face & Body Kit that has a selection of different sized needles for the different areas on the face and body. For my face I used the 0.5mm head that is recommended. There is also a 0.3mm head for use around the eyes and on the lips, and a 1.5mm that is for use on your body.

I started off on my cheeks and gently rolled the dermal roller back and forth 5-10 times in each direction. I found it to be a little uncomfortable on my forehead, but other than that it wasn’t painful at all. Once I had rolled over my entire face it was a little red but that soon calmed down and is a very normal reaction to have to this treatment. I then finished by applying a cocktail of my favourite serums to infuse into the skin. I applied the PCA Skin Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum, Aspect Extreme B 17 and Aspect Super PD Complex, followed by my usual night time moisturiser Aspect Super Moisturising Complex.

My skin was left feeling plumped, tight and absolutely glowing!! I can’t recommend this treatment highly enough; it is now very much a part of my weekly skincare routine. Dermal rolling can be performed 2-3 times per week, but I started with just one night per week until I felt comfortable with it.

Give it a go and drop me a comment on your experience.
